Title: | Abaca/PE rotomolded parts made in 1-, 2-, or 3-layers | Authors: | Ortega Medina, Zaida Cristina McCourt, Mark Suárez García, Luis Adargoma Benítez Vega, Antonio Nizardo Monzón Verona, Mario Domingo |
UNESCO Clasification: | 331005 Ingeniería de procesos | Issue Date: | 2023 | Publisher: | Sciencetris | Conference: | 6th International Conference on Natural Fibers (ICNF 2023) | Abstract: | 1-, 2-, and 3-layer parts were produced by rotomolding with different loadings of abaca fiber (5-20 %), performing a comparison on the mechanical properties with the fiber content and shots. Rotomolding cycles were analyzed, finding an increase in heating time for all composites. The impact properties are reduced for all composites, while the tensile Young's modulus increases for the parts made in 2-layers at 10 % loading of fibers. The higher energy consumption needed for the different layers would only be justified by an increase in the composite properties. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/123780 | ISBN: | 978-989-54808-8-3 | Source: | Book of Abstract of ICNF - International Conference on Natural Fibers / Fangueiro, Raul (ed.). p. 164-166 |
