dc.description.abstractIn the framework of the PESCPROF programme (Deep-sea resources of the central-eastern Atlantic), three research projects were carried out between 2003 and 2008 with the main goal of exploring the deep-sea biodiversity in the waters of the Azores, Madeira and the Canary Islands between 250 and 2500 m depth. A multimedia exhibition called "Treasures of the deep Atlantic" was prepared, explaining the main characteristics of the deep sea and showing the results of this programme.en_US
