However, there are many few instruments that assess teacher engaging messages. Given how such messages can affect students, it seems necessary to design and test a theory-based instrument to ask students about the messages used by their teachers in class. A total of 1209 students between grades 8 and 12 drawn from 63 classes participated in the study. Participants completed self-report measures of teachers’ engaging messages. Evidence was gathered towards the robustness of the scale, it’s high internal consistency and an adequate variance proportion at the class level. These results set the basis for future research targeting teaching practices. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/117914 | Source: | SIG 1 & 4 JOINT CONFERENCE EARLI, 27-30 June 2022 |
