La figura oculta del intérprete en el narrador oral

Abstract

Partiendo de que la narración oral persigue promulgar la identidad cultural y los valores sociales contenidos en relatos de tradición oral, nuestro Trabajo de Fin de Grado pretende subrayar la importancia del proceso de interpretación necesario en actos comunicativos entre un narrador oral y un público de la misma o de distinta lengua. Para ello, analizamos fundamentalmente los conceptos de oralidad, narración y narrador oral en el marco de la tradición oral, al tiempo que estudiamos el comportamiento de la tradición oral en su relación con el bilingüismo y examinamos las técnicas aplicadas por narradores orales profesionales. Entre las principales conclusiones destacamos que el narrador oral realiza adaptación lingüística cuando narra para un público de su misma lengua, pero también se apoya en un intérprete lingüístico cuando su público es de otra lengua. En este último caso, el intérprete ha de ser profesional y reunir características propias del narrador oral.

Based on the fact that oral storytelling aims to promote cultural identity and the social values contained in stories from oral tradition, our Final Degree Project aims to underline the importance of the interpretation process necessary in communicative acts between an oral storyteller and an audience of the same or a different language. For this purpose, we fundamentally analyse the concepts of orality, storytelling and oral storyteller within the framework of oral tradition, while studying the behaviour of oral tradition in relation to bilingualism and we examine the techniques applied by professional oral storytellers. Among the main conclusions, we highlight that the oral storyteller carries out linguistic adaptation when narrating for an audience of the same language, but also, when the audience is of another language, he relies on a linguistic interpreter. In the latter case, the interpreter must be a professional and have the characteristics of an oral storyteller
