Abstract: © 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. The present chapter deals with the effect of exercise and nutrition intervention for female fertility. It addresses the evidence-based recommendations on exercise training and a physically active lifestyle approach to improving health and fertility. Furthermore, it addresses the critically important issue of the role of sound nutrition practices with regards to macro and micronutrients intake considered important for optimal fertility. While not a primary focus, elements of these points relative to pregnancy are briefly addressed. Other common aspects of daily life, like the exposure to endocrine disruptors, substances that interfere with the proper functioning of the hormonal system, and therefore may alter human reproductive potential, are also addressed.
