Abstract: The year 2015 was a year in which more than a forty percent of the electrical energy generated by Denmark were from wind energy resources (the highest amount ever registered in the world) (World Energy Council in World Energy Resources 2016. World Energy Council, London, 2017 [1]), whereas Ireland, Portugal and Spain produced approximately 20% of its electricity from wind power (IEA Wind in IEA wind TCP 2015 annual report. International Energy Agency, Paris, 2016 [2]), and 11 of the 28 Member States of the EU had a wind energy penetration rate above 10% (WindEurope in Wind in power: 2016 European statistics, WindEurope, Brussels, 2016 [3]).
