dc.description.abstractThe central objective of the Paris Agreement was to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change by keeping the global temperature increase this century below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and to continue efforts to limit the temperature increase to no more than 1.5°C. The Paris Agreement requires all Parties to do their utmost through “Nationally Determined Contributions” (NDCs) and to strengthen these efforts in the years to come (UNFCCC 2015).en_US
