Abstract: In the present end of degree work have been sampled, in the framework of a research project of the ULPGC, a total of 307 specimens of Grey triggerfish (Balistes capriscus) (Balistidae) from the artisanal fishery with hand timeline practiced in waters of the Isle of El Hierro (Western Canary Islands). The developed database (Fisheries and biological) has been statistically analysed to estímate basic biological parameters of the species, useful for the conservation of this fishery resource and for the sustainable management of the fishery. It has obtained greater or lesser relevance information on this species of commercial interest in the region, never studied in the Canary Islands, relative to sizeweight relationships, sexuality ( sexual type and sex ratio) and reproduction ( size of maturity and time of laying). Toe results obtained have been compared with those of other authors in the discussion chapter and, in addition, a series of conclusions have been extracted accompanied by recommendations for the optimization of the results.
