Title: | An approach to the study of functional genomic in algae through mutagens | Authors: | Del Rosario Santana, Diana | Director: | García Jiménez, M. Del Pilar | UNESCO Clasification: | 241714 Genética vegetal | Keywords: | Algae | Issue Date: | 2018 | Abstract: | The modification of genes is a powerful tool for understanding of functional genome organization of algal biology. Here we described the characterization of the effect of chemical mutagen, such as ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS) and diethyl sulfonate (DES) and physical mutagen like ultraviolet light (UV) during the growth and development of Grateloupia imbricata. Chemical mutation was induced by dipping for different time and concentration according to two mutagens used. Furthermore, the physical mutagen was irradiated with a lamp-UV. The result showed an effect of mutagen EMS and DES with a higher number of growth structures at 0.6 mM. Nonetheless explants were able to have a dual response after 1h-UV treatment: mortality and recovering, inferred a possible photorepair of explant. | Department: | Departamento de Biología | Faculty: | Facultad de Ciencias del Mar | Degree: | Grado en Ciencias del Mar | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/75004 |
