The influence of perceived risk on terrorism in destination image and tourist behavior

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza cómo afecta el riesgo percibido en terrorismo a la imagen del destino y el comportamiento del visitante, todo ello en el escenario de los destinos internacionales. Para ello realiza primeramente un análisis de regresión múltiple a través de un sistema de ecuaciones estructurales (SEM) para establecer las relaciones causales entre el riesgo, la imagen y el comportamiento. Y posteriormente se analiza la influencia de la variable destino como variable moderadora en dichas relaciones causales. Los resultados obtenidos ayudan a la implantación de recomendaciones estrategias de marketing con el fin reducir la percepción del riesgo percibido en terrorismo.

This paper analyzes how the perceived risk of terrorism affects the image of the destination and the behavior of the visitor, all in the scenario of European destinations. For this purpose, it first performs a multiple regression analysis with structural equation model (SEM) to establish the causal relationships between terrorism risk, image and behavior. Next, it is analyzed if there are significant differences in the causal relationships due to the moderated effect of the variable destination. The results obtained help the implementation of recommendations marketing strategies in order to reduce the perceived risk in terrorism.
