|Title:||Peritoneal Assessment After Medium Team Epo Treatment||Authors:||Vega, N
|Issue Date:||1992||Publisher:||0211-6995||Journal:||Nefrologia||Abstract:||Possible modifications in peritoneal behaviour that can be caused by EPO treatment and/or correction of anemia were studied in 24 DCPA platients. The evolution of the patients on the medium run was also studied. The dialysate to plasma ratio, the peritoneal clearance and the mass transfer coefficient of urea, creatinine and glucose, and the ultrafiltration volume have been studied, baseline, after reaching the hemoglobin target, and after eight months of treatment. The group of patients developed a decrease in the dialysate to plasma ratio and in the peritoneal clearance of creatinine. After evaluating the effects of the hemoglobin and the hematocrit, we found a bimodal behaviour in peritoneal diffusion. As increment the hemoglobin and the hematocrit we found an increase in peritoneal diffusion. It is turn in decrease to surpass the hemoglobin threshold of 11 g/dl. The ultrafiltration changes are secondary to the glucose diffusion changes. Those changes are reversible after turning the hemoglobin levels back to levels lower than 11 g/dl.||URI:||http://hdl.handle.net/10553/52920||ISSN:||0211-6995||Source:||Nefrologia[ISSN 0211-6995],v. 12, p. 99-105|
