Estudio florístico y ecológico de las algas bentónicas del Archipiélago de Cabo Verde

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene por objetivo actualizar el catálogo de macroalgas marinas que ocurren en el archipiélago de Cabo Verde, sistematizando las distintas aportaciones ya realizadas, añadir nuevos registros resultantes del estudio llevado a cabo en las expediciones marinas BIOGES (septiembre de 1996 y julio de 1997), cuyos datos todavía no habían sido tratados de forma sistemática, incrementar el conocimiento ficológico de estas islas macaronésicas con el estudio sistemático de la costa de la isla de Santiago; así mismo, caracterizar la estructura del fitobentos de las comunidades del intermareal del litoral de la isla de Santiago y establecer la relación de la flora ficológica marina de Cabo Verde con la flora ficológica de los otros archipiélagos que conforman la región Macaronésica y con la flora ficológica de la costa occidental africana.

The aims of this research is to update the check-list of seaweeds that occurs in the archipelago of Cape Verde, systematizing the various contributions already made on marine algae; add new records resulting from the study conducted in marine expeditions BIOGES (September 1996 and July 1997) whose data had not yet been treated systematically; increase the phycology knowledge of the Macaronesian islands with the systematic study of the coast of the of Santiago island; characterize the structure of intertidal phytobenthic communities of the Santiago island; and establish the relationship of the marine flora of the Cape Verde with phycological data from other archipelagos that make up the Macaronesian region and with the phycological flora of the West African coasts
