Issue Date: | 2023 | Abstract: | One of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality in dogs and cats is traumatic brain injury (TBI). The most frequent causes are run over, falls, violent contusions caused by humans, traumas caused by firearms, etc. The evolution, progression, and condition of the patient with traumatic brain injury (TBI) will be marked by constant evaluation with the Modified Glasgow Coma Scale (MGCS). Advanced imaging is used to assess the type and extent of intracranial lesions, treatment, and prognosis. Computed tomography (CT) is gold standard method to patients with acute head trauma. The study of CT and CT controls are of vital importance to carry out an adequate medical/surgical therapy and a diagnosis/prognosis of the lesions caused in the patient. | Department: | Departamento de Patología Animal, Producción Animal, Bromatología y Tecnología de Los Alimentos | Faculty: | Facultad de Veterinaria | Degree: | Grado en Veterinaria | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/125759 |
