Issue Date: | 2023 | Abstract: | In the present study, assisted reproduction techniques, such as superovulation treatments, embryo extraction and in vitro embryo development, were carried out in Majorera goats of different ages (multiparous and nulliparous). With this objective, the study has been divided into two experiences; in the first one, a superovulation protocol based on exogenous gonadotropin (FSH-p), after synchronization of estrus (intravaginal sponges of progestogen and prostaglandin analogues) has been carried out and the ovulatory response has been evaluated, as well as the number of embryos and their quality, using the surgical procedure for their collection. In the second experience, from vitrified embryos at different stages of development, the maturation of the embryos and their development to term in vitro was assessed. The results showed that multiparous goats presented a better ovulatory response than nulliparous goats, which was accompanied by a higher number of transferable embryos; on the other hand, the in vitro study confirmed that embryos at the blastocyst stage present a lower loss of embryos until reaching the final maturation stage, when compared to embryos cultured at earlier stages of development. The final results of the study could indicate that multiparous goats show a better response to superovulation treatment and obtain a higher number of blastocysts, which have a higher survival rate than embryos cultured at earlier stages of development. | Department: | Departamento de Patología Animal, Producción Animal, Bromatología y Tecnología de Los Alimentos | Faculty: | Facultad de Veterinaria | Degree: | Grado en Veterinaria | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10553/125732 |
