La fragilidad del transporte como soporte del turismo

Abstract

El transporte necesita de combustibles fósiles y emite gases de efecto invernadero que contribuyen al cambio climático. En el transporte ligado al sector del turismo debe considerarse, además del viaje de los turistas, el transporte de mercancías necesario para abastecer al destino turístico en los nuevos escenarios creados. Algunos destinos turísticos se desarrollan en lugares sin recursos propios suficientes para satisfacer las necesidades de la población visitante. La descontextualización que provoca el comercio internacional incrementa la capacidad de carga de los territorios. Se modifica el indicador de la huella ecológica eliminando el componente de la huella de carbono de forma que se obtiene el balance de recursos no energéticos de cada país. Las relaciones generadas muestran la importancia del turismo intrarregional frente al interregional y que la mayoría de destinos turísticos insulares tienen déficit de recursos lo que obliga al incremento de las importaciones.

Transport needs of fossil fuel and emits greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. Transport linked to the tourism industry should include, as well as the travel of visitors, freight necessary to cater to the tourist destination in the new scenarios created. Some destinations are developed in places without sufficient own resources to meet the needs of the tourists. Disembedding, caused by the international trade, increases the load capacity of the territories. Modifies the indicator of the ecological footprint by eliminating the component of the carbon footprint in a way that gets the balance of non-energy resources of each country. Generated relations show the importance of intra-regional tourism to the interregional and that most of island destinations have resources deficit forcing the increase of imports.
