El tráiler cinematográfico: un reto para el subtitulador

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado trata sobre la Traducción Audiovisual en general. Más concretamente, se centra en la modalidad de la subtitulación, que se ha aplicado a dos tráileres cinematográficos que no cuentan con subtítulos oficiales en español. Estas piezas audiovisuales se encuentran en la lengua original, el inglés, y se ofrece una traducción a la lengua meta, el español. El objetivo del estudio es proporcionar una versión comentada de subtitulación para ambos textos audiovisuales, lo que nos ha permitido comprobar las peculiaridades y dificultades que presenta la subtitulación del tráiler como género audiovisual. Además, se describen las características y convenciones concretas del género y se realiza un análisis de los textos meta resultantes con el fin de identificar y explicar las técnicas de traducción empleadas en la resolución de problemas, y la aplicación de las convenciones del subtitulado en el género del tráiler.

This Final Degree Project addresses Audiovisual Translation in general. It is specifically focused on the mode of subtitling, which has been applied to two film trailers, which do not have official subtitles in Spanish. These audiovisual products in English, the original language, have been translated into Spanish, the target language. The aim of the project is to provide a commented subtitled version for both of them, which will allow us to observe the peculiarities and difficulties of subtitling a trailer as an audiovisual genre. Moreover, the specific characteristics and conventions of the genre have been described and an analysis of the resulting target texts has been provided in order to identify and explain the translation techniques applied in the problem-solving process and the application of subtitling conventions in the film trailer genre.
