| dc.description.abstract | Anisakis is a zoonotic parasite that infect the human population through ingestion of raw or undercooked fish, because of the symptoms or, for the lack of them, is a disease underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed. This is the first study that analyzes the seroprevalence on healthy human population on Canary Islands. The results showed a global seroprevalence of 4.41%, for IgG antibodies. The island with the highest seroprevalence was La Palma. The sex was not a factor in the sensibilization and there was found a positive correlation between the age and the seroprevalence. Due to the lack of specificity of IgG, a study with IgE is recommended. | en_US |
