Abstract: Lacrimal gland agenesis is an uncommon cause of keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) in dogs. Nowadays, it is difficult to establish a prevalence of this condition. To diagnose KCS, the test of choice is the Schirmer test, which quantifies the amount of tears produced in one minute. Medical treatment is based on the application of tear stimulants (Cyclosporine A and Tacrolimus) and corneal lubricants. This work describes a clinical case that has not responded to medical treatment and it is decided to perform oral mucosal transposition surgery on the lower and upper conjunctiva of the patient's affected eye. The results of the diagnostic tests have not shown any variation throughout the follow-up of the animal, but an evident improvement of the symptomatology has been detected, achieving a good ocular comfort and general well-being of the patient.
