Certain considerations need to be considered when a forensic case of a wild bird is conducted by a Veterinary Pathologist. Among some of these consideration tare the maintenance of the chain of custody throughout the process, including the submission of samples for complementary analysis and the preparation of the Forensic Report. Important information that must be contained in the Forensic Report that includes the estimation of the postmortem interval, the cause of death, the manner of death and how death occurred. In order to achieve an specific diagnosis, supplementary analysys are frequently needed when dealing with forensic cases. All the findings and samples obtained need to be handled as potential evidences for future investigations and the destination of the different samples and the final disposition of the body should be determined in the final report.en_US
