Abstract: The aim of this roundtable is to promote dialogue and share experiences on examining romance from a variety of interdisciplinary academic approaches. As a matter of fact, since romance novels are literary texts deeply rooted in popular culture, they not only constitute an interesting ground for linguistic research but also for studying the ideas they convey about the world they depict. In this respect, this roundtable will principally discuss romance fiction and its interconnection with travel writing, ecology and (socio)linguistics.
