Transición tecnológica del Turismo: Análisis de Lanzarote como Smart Island

Abstract

La constante expansión del turismo a escala global y la continua aparición de nuevas tecnologías traen como consecuencia el nacimiento de nuevas demandas y necesidades por parte de los turistas. Consecuentemente, estos factores han obligado a ampliar la oferta turística digital de los destinos y, es por esta razón que nos hemos centrado en este tema tan trascendental para contribuir a crear conciencia de la importancia de la continua reinvención tecnológica en ciudades y destinos turísticos. En este trabajo se analiza, en particular, la situación actual de la isla de Lanzarote, donde hemos analizado esta nueva modalidad de transformación “Smart” que ayuda con el desarrollo turístico de la isla.

The constant expansion of tourism on a global scale and the continuous appearance of new technologies result in the birth of new demands and needs by tourists. Consequently, these factors have forced to expand the digital tourism offer of destinations and it is for this reason that we have focused on this important issue to help raise awareness of the importance of continuous technological reinvention in cities and tourist destinations. This essay analyzes the current situation of the island of Lanzarote, where we have identified the characteristics and the benefits generated by this new modality of transformation "Smart" that helps the tourist development of the island.
