dc.description.abstract | In this study, 7 dogs diagnosed with cauda equina syndrome since September 2019 were subjected to epidural infiltrations with methylprednisolone acetate on three occasions, as extrapolated from suggested protocols for human patients. In accordance with the existing literature, results obtained through physical examination and surveys answered by the owners in successive consultations revealed effectiveness of the local use of corticosteroids to relieve lumbar pain and mild to moderate neurological deficits due to nerve roots irritation at that level, enjoying a safety profile which makes possible to compare it to more invasive management techniques outcomes. | en_US |
