The hydrometra or pseudopregnancy in the caprine breed is a pathological status that compromises the health of the affected animal. This process does not endanger animal life but it cancels its reproductive capacity, decreasing its milk production and in consequence causing economic losses. To determinate the prevalence of hydrometra in Gran Canaria during the year 2019, goats of the Majorera breed of 16 farms were evaluated by abdominal ultrasound. The results showed a prevalence of 1.21% in the different farms and they also demonstrated significative differences ( p >0.01) between the farm systems (intensive and semi-extensive) and the reproductive management techniques ( male effect or prostaglandin treatment) used in each one.en_US
