Estrategias diplomáticas y sombras de inteligencia: las relaciones internacionales de las organizaciones estudiantiles españolas durante la Guerra Fría Cultural (1945-1969

Abstract

Desde la perspectiva de la Guerra Fría Cultural, el artículo analiza las relaciones de los estudiantes españoles, tanto antifranquistas como dirigentes del Sindicato Español Universitario (SEU), con la Conferencia Internacional de Estudiantes (CIE) y, en el primer caso, también con la Unión Internacional de Estudiantes (UIE). Mediante el empleo de fuentes documentales, hemerográficas y testimonios biográficos, el estudio concluye que, las conexiones institucionales fueron simbólicas, limitadas y con escasa influencia en el ámbito nacional, a diferencia de otro tipo de concomitancias internacionales como los vínculos personales trazados fuera del margen de las organizaciones, donde los contactos fueron más fluidos.

From the perspective of the Cultural Cold War, the article analyses the relations of Spanish students, both anti-Francoist and leaders of the Sindicato Español Universitario (SEU), with the International Student Conference (ISC) and, in the first case, also with the International Union of Students (IUS). Using documentary, newspapers sources, and biographical testimonies, the study concludes that the institutional connections were symbolic, limited, and with little influence at the national level, unlike other types of international concomitances such as personal links established outside the organizations, where contacts were more fluid.
