¿Por qué fracasan las empresas de base tecnológica fundadas por emprendedores en España?

Abstract

Dada las características de una empresa de base tecnológica, entre ellas el ser pequeñas, independientes y competir en un sector de media y alta tecnología, adquiere interés analizar los factores que condicionan el éxito y fracaso de las mismas. Con este objetivo, se ha llevado a cabo un análisis descriptivo para identificar las características, tanto del empresario como de la propia empresa, que resultan tanto significativas como no significativas para la supervivencia de este tipo de empresas. El estudio realizado permite concluir que hay una frontera de tiempo clave en la que las empresas pueden actuar sobre diversas variables para aumentar sus posibilidades de supervivencia.

Given the characteristics of technology-based firms (being small, independent and competing in medium and high-tech sectors), analysing the factors that condition their success and failure is of great interest. With this objective in mind, a descriptive analysis has been carried out, identifying the characteristics - both of the entrepreneur and of the firm itself - that are significant (or not) for the survival of these types of companies. The study allows us to conclude that there is a key time limit in which companies can act on several variables to increase their chances of survival.
