The aim of the present paper is to analyse the dialectal words registered in the center of interest «El campo» (Countryside), stemming out of the available lexicon in Gran Canaria, one of the main islands of the Canarian archipelago. The latter constitutes one of the most relevant ones as far as the importance of the regional lexicon is concerned. Throughout this work, the index of availability attached to these dialectal words will be set in comparison with the corresponding words used in standard Spanish. Thus we will be able to obtain reliable data concerning the vitality of such dialectal uses. |
