Abstract: Excess molar enthalpies HmE{xHCO2CH3+(1-x)CnH2n+1OH} for n = 3 to 10, have been determined at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure using a Calvet microcalorimeter and a device for avoiding the vapour space in the calorimetric cell. The HmE values are all positive, increasing with the n value of the alkanol. A variable-degree polynomial has been fitted to the results, which have been compared with similar results in the literature. © 1988.
