Cybercivism tries to capture the organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) shown by the employees through their internet use in the workplace. Prior research is conclusive about the influence that employee percep-tions of procedural justice (PJ) have on their organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) and on their cybercivism in particular. However, this article suggests that this relationship -PJ and cybercivism- is moderated by their percep-tions of a governed workplace. More specifically, the present study suggests that the level of normative effective-ness interacts with PJ, weakening or intensifying (even activating) the effects of PJ on cybercivism. Data were col-lected from 270 teachers at a university. Multiple Hierarchical Regression results support the moderating role of normative effectiveness because the perceptions of PJ among employees with low, as compared to high normative effectiveness, have a stronger relationship with cybercivism. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the ways in which workplace fair perceptions affect cybercivism and suggest that, unless fair perceptions take place in a governed workplace, the design of fair operating procedures may be fruitless in the effort to promote cybercivism and achieve its benefits.en_US
