Issue Date: | 2022 | Abstract: | In this work, the methodology proposed by (Troupin et al., 2015) for the treatment of oceanographic data from gliders is explored. This data treatment adds the corrections proposed by (Garau et al., 2011) to the thermal lag problem for obtaining salinity from the conductivity measured by the glider. Using this methodology, data from the waters south of the Canary Islands between 28º-27º N and 16.5º-14.5º W are treated (7th to 25th July 2017). The results obtained shows the eddies mesoscale field associated with these islands, warm and cold eddies have been identified duet to and their effect on biogeochemical variables like chlorophyll or oxygen. Showing the evidence that both the gliders and said methodology are useful to study of this type of structures. | Department: | Departamento de Biología | Faculty: | Facultad de Ciencias del Mar | Degree: | Grado en Ciencias del Mar | URI: | https://accedacris.ulpgc.es/handle/10553/118064 |
